I explained our using them for rush was to cut the budget, I shared figures that I believe showed very well the rate I expected to pay. After several weeks of work I was being billed a higher rate. They would make no more accomodations for the misunderstanding, when given a choice I will not use them again. Temp Connection was very up front with me that they could not fill my positions because of the pay and the parking situation. I have hired or participated in the hiring of temporary employees for the Book Rush for years. Given the volume that we hire, I expect there are good and bad as far as reliability goes. I do not see the employees the agencies send any worse or any better than what I can hire from an open recruitment because of the shear volume. We require an average skill level for the type of jobs, we offer. On the most part the skills are adequate. Our positions are mainly sales assistants and a few laborers. They are not hard to fill. I can't say that they are not a diverse group because we hire so many at such a frantic pace that quite honestly I don't track this. For the positions I hire for they are the most reasonable. Pridestaff was chosen because of that factor also. They work very hard to satisfy us when we make a request. They said they were faxing three applicants resumes, they did not. They sent one, we set up a time for the person to come in for an interview. The person never showed and Volt did not follow up. I called Volt to speak to a responsible person and ended up speaking with the person who answered the phone. I told them I was extremely unhappy with them and would not be using their services again. I called A & M and they had a person for me almost immediately. An employee had been moved from one position to another and ended up resigning with a four day notice. See response above under comments. The employee did not always get to work on time. Temporary from A & M computer skills could have been better, but she worked out O.K. She applied for the permanent position, but did not get it.
