Initial Probation Termination Memo Format
For Regular Classified Staff (who is serving an initial six month probation period)
Supervisors: Use this format to generate a draft initial
probation termination memo in accordance with Classified Staff
Policy #112.0.
Although written notification is not required, this format may be used to confirm
the termination of a Regular Classified Staff employee who is still on an initial six
month probation period - (This format is not for a three-month transfer/promotion probationary
employee.)
Keep in mind that an employee on initial probation at the time of termination:
- is not eligible to be paid for accumulated vacation
- must repay all sick time (and any vacation time during holiday closure) used during probation
- must be paid all wages due within three working days following the termination
date or on the payday following the end of the regular pay period, whichever is sooner.
