UA Service & Retirement Awards
As part of the University's program to honor employee service to the University of Arizona, President Robert Shelton hosts two events each spring, a Retiree Dinner Reception and a Service Awards Luncheon. These events are held to honor those who are currently retiring and those who have been employed for extended periods of time at the University of Arizona.
Each February, payroll representatives are asked to verify all individuals in their department who are eligible for an award, calculate breaks in service, and identify those who have recently retired or are planning to retire by June 30 of that year. Employee Records staff is able to assist with employment date calculations and eligibility, and is also responsible for distributing and collecting the payroll rep reports.
