Leave Decision and Process Overview for Supervisors

Once you have gathered sufficient information from your employee about the request, you can then use this evaluation tool to identify the appropriate policy and link to more information about the business considerations that can be factored into your decision on whether to approve the absence or leave.

Note: All absence/leave decisions start with an evaluation against the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. As a requirement by law, the University strives to apply Family and Medical Leave (FML) to all applicable situations and you, as a supervisor, are the key to maintaining Federal compliance.
