9/12 Pay Plan Option

Beginning August 17, 2009, academic employees at The University of Arizona are scheduled to be paid in twenty pay cycles over the 9-month academic year. Eligible academic year appointees may receive income for twelve months, from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, by enrolling in the 9/12 Pay Plan Option. Employees in their initial year of appointment; graduate assistants/associates; employees in a temporarily-funded position; "visiting," "adjunct" and other temporary employees; are NOT eligible for this plan.

ENROLLING

If you wish to begin using this option, please complete the 9/12 Pay Plan Enrollment Agreement Form. Completed enrollment agreement forms must be received by Human Resources by May 22, 2009 to be effective with the first paycheck in July.

CONTINUING

You will continue in this pay option plan from year to year until you withdraw from the plan. It is not necessary to re-enroll each year.

WITHDRAWING

If you wish to withdraw from your 12-month pay arrangement and begin receiving your pay over the 9-month academic year, please complete the Return to 9/9 Academic Pay Plan. Completed forms MUST be received by Human Resources by May 22, 2009 to be effective with the first paycheck in July. You will not receive pay from July 1 to the first academic paycheck.
