
Computing and Technology
Data Stewards shall be responsible for the effective functioning and regulatory and policy compliance of the transaction systems for which they are the stewards. The Council's mission is to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and consistency across university systems by coordinating the data administration of those systems. Objectives include: Establishing coherent policies to ensure responsible use of and access to institutional data; advise the Information Technology Council as well as other campus groups and decision makers on data issues; promote the establishment of an integrated information environments through accepted data administration practices and by developing and supporting an institutional data model; ensure the availability of appropriate training for data users; and coordinate with other offices when developing, enhancing, or purchasing administrative systems.
High Performance Computing Committee
The High Performance Computing Committee advises the Vice President for Research and Graduate studies on a variety of issues relating to super computing.
Information Security Advisory Board
President Likins established an Information Security Advisory Board to implement the recommendations of the Information Security Advisory Council, to oversee development of security and privacy policy, and to assist the University Information Security Officer with resolving concerns and disputes.
Learning Technology Services (LTS) supports a variety of production services, consultation, and instructional tools to facilitate instruction and research on The University of Arizona campus. Faculty, instructional personnel and researchers can benefit from working with LTS to explore, plan, implement and maintain technologies to enhance both the learning experience of students and the research experience of faculty. LTS facilitates instructional and research technology through synergy with our campus partners. As a community of professionals, we hold ourselves accountable for the effectiveness of our existing projects and the development of new projects.
The Network Managers (NetMgrs) Group is the organization, of people responsible for the management and support of networks, with focus towards the technical aspects of networks, from departments or unit affiliated with the university campus. It is a technical working group with concerns and expertise in dealing with operational support and enhancement of data communications on campus. These are the people who, within their areas, are tasked to make data communications happen.
Net vision is a subcommittee within the Net Managers group charged with examining future directions in networking at the University. Work on specific issues takes place in subcommittees, in which anyone can volunteer.
The UA Web Team is dedicated to improving the University experience by providing timely, accurate, and consistent online access to university information. The team is committed to its work, maintains a positive attitude and exemplifies this by "going the extra mile" for its customers.
