    (min/mid/max):
    $15,912/$18,449/$22,049
    FLSA:Non-exempt

    Purpose of Classification:
    Tutors students to improve their academic performance.

    Distinguishing Characteristics:
    This is first in a series of two classifications and is distinguished from the Tutor, Senior position in that incumbents do not have content design and outreach responsibility. This classification requires a flexible work schedule in order to meet the objectives of the students served.

    Example of Duties:
    • Provides students with assistance in courses relevant to tutor's knowledge in individual or small group settings as assigned by the tutor's supervisor.
    • Establishes and maintains work schedule with students.
    • Attends training sessions throughout the semester.
    • Refers students with excessive problems to supervisor.
    • Meets with supervisor on individual basis to discuss progress of tutored students and attends meetings at supervisor's request.
    • Maintains student tutoring records.
    • Abides by the University of Arizona Code of Conduct and The University of Arizona Academic Code of Integrity while performing tutoring responsibilities.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of content in which incumbent will be assigned.
    • Ability to complete required tasks according to schedule.
    • Ability to effectively communicate.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • High school diploma; AND,
      • Two years of tutoring experience in area of assigned discipline.
      • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
