Purpose of Classification:
Moves office and dorm furniture and equipment.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is first in a series of three classifications.
Example of Duties:
Moves furniture, appliances and equipment. Moves computers and electronic equipment as directed. Moves art objects and displays. Sets up and removes seating and equipment for special events. Distributes goods to and from salvage, storage, surplus and central receiving. Assembles and installs modular office furniture. May maintain vehicles and moving equipment. May operate forklift. May operate various snow removal equipment and shovel snow and ice from designated areas. May assist in grounds maintenance/construction operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of moving techniques. Skill in the use of moving techniques. Ability to effectively communicate.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of moving experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources. Possession of a current Arizona Type D driver's license upon employment.
