    Title: Videotape Editor

    $22,602/$28,144/$34,762
    FLSA:Non-exempt

    Purpose of Classification:
    Edits materials for the formation and post-production of videotape television programs. Controls video tape machines and time code editing equipment in the production of videotape television programs.

    Distinguishing Characteristics:
    This is first in a series of two classifications and is distinguished from the Videotape Editor, Senior in that the Videotape Editor is not responsible for quality control and technical compliance.

    Example of Duties:
    • Operates videotape machines and time code editing equipment in formation of videotape television programs.
    • Assists television production staff to plan the final formation of program.
    • Maintains production schedule.
    • Performs post-production audio and video editing.
    • Reports malfunctions and problems with equipment to maintenance supervisor.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines.
    • Knowledge of video and stereo audio time code editing.
    • Ability to effectively communicate.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television or related field AND two years videotape editing; OR,
      • Six years of videotape editing experience; OR,
      • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
