
Increase in Federal Minimum Wage
On May 25, 2007, President Bush signed legislation to increase the federal minimum wage over three years. The University will implement the final increase of $7.25 per hour effective with the pay period beginning July 13, 2009
Classified Staff Salary Schedule Changes for Fiscal Year 2008/2009
- Pay grade 04 will be eliminated and the job titles in that grade will be moved to pay grade 11. Affected job titles include Concessions Worker, Event Attendant, High School Student, and High School Student Food Service.
- Event Attendant, Senior will move from pay grade 11 to pay grade 12.
Student Group minimum hourly pay rates effective July 13, 2009
- Student Group A - $7.25
- Student Group B - $7.75
- Student Group C - $9.00
- Student Group D - $11.25
Departments may adjust pay up to the new Student Group B/C minimums no later than July 1, 2010.
The pay rate adjustments to $7.25 per hour will be administered centrally, and affected departments will receive turnaround PAFs in confirmation of the action. Departments are encouraged to review their staffing plans to assess any impact of the increased cost on department operations.
The new pay ranges must be used for all new hires and employment actions beginning July 13, 2009.
