MedImpact is the provider for Pharmacy Benefits.  Walgreens Health Initiatives (WHI) is the provider for Mail Order and Speciality Drugs.

MedImpact has a 3-tier prescription benefits program: $10 per fill for generic drugs on the drug list, $20 for brand name drugs on the drug list, $40 for drugs not on the drug list. Some medications do require preauthorization from MedImpact.  Contact MedImpact at 1-888-648-6769 to determine if a specific drug is in this category.

Specialty medications used for treating chronic or complex health conditions are handled through the Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy Program.  Specialty medications are limited to a 30-day supply and may be obtained only at a Walgreens retail pharmacy or by calling 1-888-782-8443.

There are least two ways to save money on prescription costs. The first is to use WHI's mail-order program. This program allows you to order up to a three-month supply of maintenance medication for the cost of two co-pays. Another good way to save on prescription costs is to use our flexible-spending account. You can deduct the money you spend on your prescription costs from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis and be reimbursed by that money each time you incur an eligible expense. This will help to lower your taxable income so you will take home more money over the course of the year.
